Veterinarians Agree Most Dogs Need 30 Minutes Of Running Every Few Days

Las Vegas— 11-26-21RUN DAWG is a mobile dog gym that serves the Las Vegas valley, providing climate-controlled exercise for dogs on non-motorized treadmills. The service was started for a very specific reason, to give dogs the exercise that they need. It is a common misconception that dogs only need a short walk around the block every day to stay active and healthy. This is untrue in the majority of cases, with most young and physically healthy dogs actually needing upwards of 2 hours of daily walking combined with 30 minutes of high intensity running every few days. These recommendations are provided by the majority of veterinarians, and while there are differences in the amount of necessary exercise by breed, periodic, regular running is suggested for nearly all dogs.  Walking at a human pace does not effectively raise the heart rate of most dogs, which is the only way to improve heart and lung functionality. While walking is critical for bonding and socialization, it actually does very little as far as aerobic exercise for your dog. In order to accomplish the physical workout levels that will keep your dog healthy and living a longer life, you need to provide running as well. They should be panting and want to lay down when they are done, this is how you can determine if your dog has actually received a good workout that will benefit them.

It is hard to run a dog in Las Vegas

Between the extreme hot and cold weather which makes it difficult and uncomfortable to spend time outside with your dog, Las Vegas is a climate that is not conducive to exercising dogs outdoors. In addition, it is very difficult to find areas where you can allow your dog to run off-leash and at full speed. Most open areas are rocks and sand instead of soft grass, and many dogs do not do well at dog parks. This leaves very few options for the effective exercising of dogs in the Las Vegas area. RUN DAWG Mobile Dog Gym allows dogs to run at full speed and exercise until they are tired, all within a safe and convenient mobile unit. The workouts are tailored specifically to your dog’s needs and limitations, giving them the best that is available for their body. Regular running exercise is proven to extend dog’s lives and minimize health issues.
